Juventus have agreed a deal in principle with Chelsea to
sign Maurizio Sarri - The 60-year-old have been linked with the Serie A
champions after Max Allegri left - Sarri won the Europa League with Chelsea and
finished third in the Premier League Juventus and Chelsea have finally agreed
on a deal in landing manager Maurizio Sarri to the Serie A club. The Italian
champions and the Premier League finally reached an agreement on Thursday, June
13, after many talks between senior officials. And it is understood that the
contract will be settled on Friday, June 13, where a compensation fee in excess
of £5million has been agreed.
Sarri arrived Stamford Bridge in July, 2018 and led the
Blues to a third place finish in the Premier League, including a Europa League
triumph in his one season in charge. The 60-year-old will now become the ninth
full-time manager to leave the club under club owner Roman Abramovich. There
has repeated speculation about his position, with Chelsea fans expressing their
disapproval at tactics and team selections.
But the former Empoli boss won his first ever trophy in his
managerial career following Chelsea's 4-1 win over Arsenal in the Europa League
finals. And after the match Sarri said "he deserved" to stay with the
club. Chelsea have been banned for two transfer windows by FIFA following
irregularities in signing of young players but the north London club are
currently appealing at the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
The Italian gaffer who led the Blues to win the Europa
League title against Arsenal is set to walk away from the London club next
season.
