There has been a seismic shift in attitudes towards women's
football in recent years. And with the Women's World Cup in France about to
kick off, major brands are out in force to support the squads. Here we look at
one of most significant sponsorship investments into the Nigerian Women’s sport
in recent years and the standout creative campaign by a premium brand none
other than ‘AMSTAL MALTA.
Women's football is growing both on the field and off it, currently
one of the fastest growing female sports today in terms of coverage and
interest, with all eyes on the super falcons looking ahead to the 2019 World
Cup in France it exciting to see the falcons are getting all the support they
deserve.
Amstel Malta, which is the official malt drink of the
Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) and supporter of the Super Falcons recently
launched a campaign ahead of the 2019 Women’s World Cup tag “WE GOT BALLS’’.
Personally asides the financial investments being thrown
into supporting Super Flacons by Amstel Malta what I love about this campaign
is the fact that it raises a sense of awaken among Nigerians to channel the same energy given in supporting their Male
counterparts towards the Super Falcons also.
The “We’ve Got Balls” Featuring campaign features a all-female star cast and
crew with Nollywood, music and entertainment stars like Tiwa Savage, Dakore
Egbuso–Akande, Tonto Dikeh, Ihuoma Linda Ejiofor–Suleiman and Cynthia Nwadiora
(Cee C) and Super Falcons’ super stars
like Asisat Oshoala, Onome Ebi, Rita Chikwelu, Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene and Tochukwu
Oluehi ,
The “We’ve Got Balls”
ad campaign passes a strong message which highlights the strength, fortitude
and bravery of the Nigerian woman who against all odds, thrives and wins. Produced and captured by award-winning movie
and music video director, Kemi Adetiba and leading contemporary Nigerian
photographer, Yetunde Ayeni-Babaeko though the Ad as divided opinions on its
delivery one thing remains definite Nigerians are united in their support for the
Falcons
LET’S GO SUPER FALCONS!!!!!!
